Barracuda NG Firewall has a comprehensive anti-malware and anti-virus scanning engine. Unfortunately, this clashes with the Apple Appstore: downloading apps and updates get blocked by the AV scanning engine. In order to resolve this, the URLs from Apple need to be excluded.

Using NGAdmin, log on to the firewall (or Control Center), navigate to the Virus-Scanner service of the firewall, and open the Virus Scanner Settings configuration node.

Click on Content Scanning and under the HTTP Multimedia Streaming section, add a new Scan Exception.

Enter a name for the exclusion, then enter these values:

Allowed MIME-Types: add the value *

Domain: *.apple.*

In iOS 10 it seems it is no longer possible to hang up a call on your iPhone when it is locked. In past release, the controls to hang up a call would automatically appear when moving or waking up the phone, but now you simply see the number or contact you're calling and the call time. It seems the call control buttons have gone, and to end the call, you have to unlock the phone, go to the Phone app and end the call from there, which is a hassle.

When looking on the internet about this, a lot of people think this is a bug, but actually, it's not... Apple has changed the behaviour because of the new way to unlock your phone (pressing the Home button rather than swiping).

UPDATE: this article is no longer required as 4G for the carrier Proximus and Base are now supported by your iPhone natively!

 

 

 

In Belgium, the carrier Proximus is rolling out the new 4G (a.k.a. LTE) network. Proximus will be using the 1800MHz channels, which is supported by iPhone 5 and a number of Android phones (notably the Galaxy S3 and Note II). Unfortunately, Apple's policy is that carriers providing 4G first have to pass a "quality test" before they are added to the list of "supported 4G networks". Because in Belgium, Apple has a exclusivity contract with Mobistar and the latter aren't rolling out 4G just yet, results in Proximus  ...
